This little thing sits as an additional wiring loom between the factory headlight wiring loom and the headlight itself. Internally there is a small PCB which ‘conditions’ the signals to/from the headlight to prevent the AFS system from intermittent faults. This prevents the warnings from popping up on the dashboard, whilst still allowing the AFS system to work during intermittent faults due to the internal motor sensors rolling over their step count sporadically.
